How and where to get started reading manga.

So you want to start reading manga, but you don’t know where to start?

Don’t worry, I got you covered.

In this blog post, I’ll give you a crash course in all things manga.

I’ll tell you what manga is, where you can find it, and how to get started reading it.

By the time you’re finished reading this post, you’ll be a manga expert!

I reference Crunchyroll’s Manga app below. I personally use VIZ media’s manga app. They have the Pokemon Adventures collection.

I am an actual fan. Not a trophy or competition hunter. I enjoy each and every Pokemon (even, Sobble).

I normally start water, but as of late, I think I am officially transitioning to being a grass pokemon trainer.

I smoke it. I enjoy gardening. I love nature. I am also wearing my lime green Bulbasaur t-shirt while writing this post. The starter shift makes sense.

Feel free to opine. Curious on your thoughts.

Anyway, about manga…

What is Manga?

Manga is a Japanese word that refers to both comics and cartooning. In Japan, people of all ages read manga.

It’s not just for kids or teenagers; adults read it too. In fact, some of the most popular manga are aimed at an adult audience.

If you’re thinking that manga is just like American comics, think again. Manga has its own distinct style and conventions.

For example, most American comics are read from left to right, but manga is traditionally read from right to left. This can take some getting used to, but once you get the hang of it it’s not so bad.

Where to Find Manga

Now that you know what manga is, you’re probably wondering where you can find it. If you live in Japan, then obviously the best place to find manga is at your local bookstore or comic shop. But what if you don’t live in Japan?

Not to worry!

These days, there are plenty of ways to read manga online.

There are several websites that offer digital manga from a variety of publishers, and there are also mobile apps that let you read manga on your phone or tablet. We recommend using a website or app like Crunchyroll Manga, which offers a huge selection of both classic and contemporary titles.

The content might not be enjoyable for everyone though.

anyway, once you’ve gotten a feel for how manga works, you can move on to longer and more complex series.
