Vektroid is the pseudonym of musician Ramona Xavier. Xavier is considered one of the pioneers of the vaporwave genre and has released music under a variety of different aliases, including Macintosh Plus, Laserdisc Visions, and PrismCorp Virtual Enterprises.
James Ferraro is an American musician and visual artist who has been active in the vaporwave scene since its early days. Ferraro is known for his experimental approach to music, often incorporating elements of found sound and field recordings into his work.
Daniel Lopatin, also known by his alias Oneohtrix Point Never, is an American composer and electronic musician. Lopatin’s music often explores themes of nostalgia and memory, utilizing samples from old video games, TV shows, and movies.
4. HKE
HKE is the pseudonym of American musician Levi Buffum. Buffum is one of the founders of the record label Dream Catalogue, which has released a number of influential vaporwave albums.
5. Saint Pepsi
Saint Pepsi is the pseudonym of American musician Ryan DeRobertis. DeRobertis began making music under the Saint Pepsi name in 2012, releasing a number of well-received albums and EPs.
6. Washed Out
Washed Out is the stage name of American musician Ernest Greene. Greene first gained attention with his song “Feel It All Around”, which was used in an episode of the TV show Portlandia. Washed Out’s music often incorporates elements of synth-pop and dream pop.
7. Neon Indian
Neon Indian is the stage name of Mexican-American musician Alan Palomo. Palomo first rose to prominence with his song “Polish Girl”, which was used in a Volkswagen commercial in 2010. Neon Indian’s music often incorporates elements of synth-pop and chillwave.
8. Anamanaguchi
Anamanaguchi is an American band from New York City that combines electronic music with chiptune sounds generated by vintage video game hardware. The band’s sound has been described as “a mix between 8-bit Nintendo sounds and modern pop punk.”
9. Magic Fades
Magic Fades is the pseudonym of Australian musician Joel Fowler . Fowler began making music under the Magic Fades name in 2011 , releasing a number of well-received albums and EPs.
10. Vaperror
Vaperror is the pseudonym of American musician Jeff Cardinal. Cardinal’s music often incorporates elements of ambient, drone, and noise.
